Accessibility Statement
Last updated: 1 March 2026
1. Our Commitment
TrapStats is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people of all abilities. We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA standards as published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). We continually review and improve our website to increase its accessibility and usability.
2. Measures Taken
We have taken the following measures to ensure accessibility:
- Semantic HTML: We use proper heading hierarchy, landmarks, and ARIA attributes throughout the application.
- Keyboard navigation: All interactive elements are accessible via keyboard. Focus indicators are visible on all focusable elements.
- Colour contrast: Text and interactive elements meet WCAG 2.1 Level AA contrast ratios (minimum 4.5:1 for normal text, 3:1 for large text).
- Responsive design: The application is usable at zoom levels up to 200% and across various screen sizes.
- Alternative text: Images and charts include descriptive alternative text or are marked as decorative where appropriate.
- Form labels: All form inputs have associated labels and provide clear error messages.
- Screen readers: We test with VoiceOver (macOS/iOS), NVDA (Windows), and TalkBack (Android).
- Reduced motion: We respect the
prefers-reduced-motionmedia query to minimise animations for users who prefer it.
3. Known Limitations
Despite our efforts, some areas may have limited accessibility:
- Interactive charts and graphs: Some complex data visualisations (e.g., race form charts, SHAP plots) may not be fully accessible to screen readers. We provide data tables as alternatives where possible.
- Third-party components: Some third-party integrations (e.g., Stripe payment forms, Crisp live chat) are outside our direct control. We select providers who demonstrate accessibility commitments.
- PDF documents: Some older PDF documents may not be fully tagged for accessibility. We are working to remediate these.
4. Compatibility
TrapStats is designed to be compatible with the following assistive technologies:
- Screen readers (NVDA, JAWS, VoiceOver, TalkBack)
- Screen magnification software
- Speech recognition software
- Keyboard-only navigation
The site is tested on the latest versions of Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge.
