UK & Irish greyhound racing, as a dataset
The same verified results and racecards this site runs on, exported every Monday as CSV files in one zip. A free 90-day window — every GBGB and GRI meeting we hold in it, every runner, every column. Each race carries how many independent sources confirmed its result, so you can judge the quality before you rely on it.
The sample is complete in what it contains and shallow in time on purpose. The archive behind it took real work to assemble and verify, so the full history, live data and higher limits are licensed rather than given away — commercial access covers the API, bulk files and the rights to redistribute or train on it.
- races.csv
- 14,934 rows
- runners.csv
- 89,034 rows
- dogs.csv
- 12,879 rows
- tracks.csv
- 53 rows
What is in the zip
- races.csv — one row per race: date, track, country, distance, grade, going, winning time, race status, verification_status and verification_sources
- runners.csv — one row per runner: trap, finish position, non-runner flag, starting price, finish time, sectional, bend positions, distance beaten, weight, trainer, stewards' comment
- dogs.csv — every dog that ran in the window: sire, dam, date of birth, sex, colour, country of origin
- tracks.csv — track name, country, circumference and coordinates
Reading the provenance column
- verified_3 — the result agrees across three independent sources
- verified_2 — two sources agree
- single_source — one source only — all Irish racing, because no second independent publisher of Irish results exists
- conflict — sources disagree; treat with care
- pending — not yet cross-checked
How the checking works, and what was wrong before it was fixed, is on the data quality page.
What is deliberately not here
Exchange prices. Betfair asserts copyright and database rights over its pricing data, and a dataset published under CC BY 4.0 would let you pass that data on — which is not ours to grant. The prices in these files are the bookmakers’ returned starting price, published with the official result. If you need exchange prices, take them from Betfair under your own licence.
Licence and attribution
Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 (CC BY 4.0). Use it for research, journalism, models or your own site; attribute as “TrapStats (trapstats.co.uk)” with a link to this page. The underlying results remain the property of GBGB, GRI and the other publishers named in the verification sources. Need it live, in bulk, or with different rights? Commercial access covers the API, file delivery and licensing. This is analytics data, not betting advice: no strategy we have tested beats the market at starting price, and the files say so in their README.
